Privacy

At IT Simply, we take our responsibility to protect the information entrusted to us seriously. This includes personal information that we hold directly, as well as information we may access while providing technology and support services to our clients.

We may collect personal information directly from you, from your employer or organisation, or through the systems and services we manage on your organisation's behalf.

The personal information we collect may include:

  • your name and contact details;
  • account and user information;
  • information about computers, devices, accounts and networks you use;
  • technical, diagnostic and security information;
  • support requests and your interactions with us; and
  • billing, purchasing and other information necessary to provide our services.

We collect and use this information where it is reasonably necessary to provide, manage and support our services, communicate with our clients and their staff, maintain the security and operation of the systems we support, administer our business and meet our legal obligations.

Providing personal information is generally voluntary. However, if you or your organisation do not provide information or access that is necessary for us to deliver a service, we may not be able to provide that service.

We may provide personal information to trusted third-party service providers where this is necessary to provide or support our services. We only provide information required for that purpose and expect those providers to protect personal information appropriately.

Some service providers we use may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where required by the Privacy Act 2020, we take appropriate steps to ensure personal information disclosed overseas is protected in accordance with New Zealand privacy law.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. These measures include access controls, multi-factor authentication and encryption where appropriate. Access to personal information is limited to people who require it to perform their role.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is required for the purposes for which it was collected, or where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory or legitimate business purposes. When personal information is no longer required, we securely delete or dispose of it where reasonably practicable.

If we become aware of a privacy breach, we will investigate and respond appropriately, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required by the Privacy Act 2020.

You have the right to ask for access to personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate. If you would like to request access to or correction of your personal information, or have a question about how we handle your information, please contact us at info@itsimply.co.nz or 0508 487 467.
